Vegetable Garden Week 3

We are so ecstatic about how the garden is growing.
Above are the cucumbers and okra.  Heath built the cucumbers a trellis since they were wrapping around the okra.  Overnight they had climbed and wrapped around the wire.
The squash is our favorite.  The crookneck variety is huge and we have 4 baby squashes coming in already.
Tomatoes have grown a bit.  One of the plants has about 6 tomatoes on it.

Dog House

Last summer we started building the dogs their dog house.  This weekend we finally put the finishing touches on it.  We are so pleased with how it turned out.

Bandit inspecting the progress and Moose sticking his head out of where the air conditioner will go.

                          The roof was HEAVY!

The dogs enjoy it very much.  It has a heater, an air conditioner, and a web cam so we can access them from our phones/computer when we are out of town.

Our Vegetable Garden

\
Then we also started eating pretty strict Paleo in January so we eat a lot of vegetables.  Heath built a garden with his best friend Martin at their house about a month ago so they used that same plan for ours.  It came together pretty quickly and then we made many many trips to Lowe's!

We did a mixture of sand, soil, peat moss and manure.
Hopefully the landscape screen keeps all the bermuda out.
 Moose was so helpful.
 Mixing
No idea why he is upside down.
Finally planting!  This was our favorite part.
We planted zucchini, squash, okra, green beans, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
Moose is going to keep all of the birds away from the tomatoes.
Heath built us these lattice's.  It's pretty hot and dry here right now so once the plants get established hopefully we won't need them any longer.
