Puppy News

The short version:
We are getting another puppy from the same breeder we got Bruce from and we are getting it a month earlier than we thought.
This means in March there will be another "little black monster" to terrorize Bandit and our new house.

The infinite detail version:
Most of you knew that we were getting another puppy from Gail, the same breeder we got Bruce from. We found out this past week that we are actually getting the new puppy a month earlier than expected.

We now know who the mom and dad of our new puppy will be.

Here is the dad, Dakota:

Dakota's pedigree is not on Gail's website, but we do know who his mom and dad are...

Here is his dad's pedigree.

And his mom's pedigree.

He comes from the German, Zimmerplatz bloodline and also has ties back to the Schwaiger Wappen kennel.

These are both well known names in Rottweiler Breeding and the lineage carries tons of titles, good OFA certifications, and things that are important to Hilary and I.

And here is the mom, Zussy:

I am pretty sure her name is German, but you pronounce it (or everyone does pronounce it) just like Suzy.
Zussy's pedigree is available on Gail's website.
Here is the link: Zussy's Pedigree
For anyone that is not a HUGE dog nerd, like Hilary and I have become...this probably means very little.
A little translation from crazy pedigree talk to normalspeak,
Zussy's mom and dad both have their hips certified and they both are given a rating of Good.
This is important for the Rottweiler breed, because they are prone to hip dysplasia.
This just means that because Rottweilers are normally such big dogs, that sometime their bones don't develop well enough to support their big bodies.
The OFA certification for hips is the best assurance that we have that our puppy won't have these problems.
There is also a bunch of other stuff on her Pedigree that is important to us.
Zussy's dad is Dallas, one of Gail's studs and Dallas' dad is Chewbacca.
Bruce had the same bloodline and we thought he was the best behaved/tempered dog EVER.
So we are excited to be getting another Chewbacca pup.
This is a link to Chewbacca's webpage.
If you scroll through, you'll see some of the "famous" pictures of Chewbacca.
I am sure anyone that has taken the time to look at any or all of this now know what HUGE dog nerds Hilary and I are.
Anywho, we are both looking forward to sharing tons more puppy news with everyone.
I am sure all of you are interested more in the cute puppy pics than all of the pedigree stuff that is in this post.
It has been a good while since I have posted and Hilary has given me endless grief about my abandonment of the blog.
Work has been EXTREMELY busy lately and promises to be that way until Christmas and well into the new year.
Thanks to everyone who periodically checks in on us through our blog.

Bandit passed his CGC

Tonight Bandit passed his CGC. He did really well and everyone was really proud of him.

Here he is laying in his new pet bed. Bandit is not a big fan of the hard wood floors....he is always cold even in the 80 degree weather we have had. He loves his new stylish bed from Target=)

#4 dropped to #10

We (Hil and Marva) had a great time at the football game on Saturday night. The weather was perfect and the game was perfect. I grew up with Oklahoma State graduates as parents, so I was raised hating OU. Here's a picture of what the students did after Tech won.......

Carpet!

Here are pictures of our new carpet. We absolutely love it! It makes the rooms look so much bigger and it smells like we have a new house. We are so happy! The next big project is installing new door knobs....10 to be exact. We are having tile put into both bathrooms sometime next week.

Heath's new tool

Our sweet friends Laura and Steven let us borrow their saw for a month and a half. THANKS! It was time to give it back so we decided to buy one. We love it and are almost finished with the floors.

We have carpet installed on Thursday and we cannot wait for the difference. The carpet in the bedrooms is an ugly blue color....here's a picture of the carpet we picked!

Look who is 30!

Amy turned 30 on Friday and Jerry pulled off a HUGE surprise party for her. She had no idea.

What fun!

Bandit got Furminated

While spending so much time at a groomer recently (trying to locate the owner of the stray) I learned about this de-shedding technique furminator. We took Bandit this weekend and have noticed a HUGE difference. YEAH!

"Ginger" the stray

We were watching TV on Friday night and Heath's phone rang. It was the owner's of the stray dog. We were excited that they had called and were going to be reunited, but a little sad to have to call the family that we had given her away to (they were sad, but understood.) We don't know why it took them 5 weeks to call. She is with her owners now and I bet they are happy to have her back=) I think we are going to buy her some tags!

Brenda's wedding

Last weekend we went to Abilene to Brenda's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and we had lots of fun catching up with old friends.
Delta Gammas with the gorgeous bride!

Laura and Hilary....I teach with Laura and her husband Steven knows the bride because they are both audiologists.
