Please meet the newest addition to our family. We just ordered our new TV...although we still aren't sure how we are going to hang it. (The problem is not hanging it so much as hiding the wires in our all brick chimney - anyone that has a clue here please let us know Hilary talked about it here.) We are both really excited about getting it. We are leaving for Nate's wedding in mexico pretty soon and so we hope that all works out for it getting here at the right time. That would be a great welcome home. I ordered the TV online and although I am a little nervous about it I think all will work out. The difference between the web and Best Buy/Circuit City here is insane - probably 15-20% cheaper online and that doesn't even include the tax, so we felt like it was worth it to order online. I may have to make another post about how the whole experience went after it is all said and done.

Funny Puppy

The one from Ebay hasn't come in yet. But I am sure, we will take a picture of it...ha! I can't wait for football season to start...Go red raiders.
DIY
Heath was so pumped to find out that we have a DIY channel. He has loaded the DVR with tonz of shows on fixing everything!
My friends at Lowe's helped me find the perfect tools for ripping up linoleum. There were 2 layers in the kitchen...man they were ugly. It has not been a fun job. We've used about 50 razor blades so far to get all of the adhesive up. But it will be worth it and look so much better
with ceramic tile.

Puppy Kindergarten
Here's a Bruce update: He weighs about 50 pounds. He's about 22 inches tall. He is at that lanky stage right now. His favorite things to chew on are water bottles, bully rings, and socks, oh and Bandit. This dog can eat. I have never had a dog that liked to eat as much as Bruce. His nickname is "Gobbler."
With a bandana on he is approached more. Also, we think that he will always where a bandana because this dog is a messy eater and drinker! So with the bandana on, we can just wipe him off. I ordered him a Texas Tech one off of Ebay, hopefully it will be here soon...I couldn't find a WT one, but I am going to keep looking.
He is very loyal. He follows us everywhere we go in the house. He is very helpful also. When we are doing anything, he is right there to check it out.
He loves to go to Petsmart. While we were in Amarillo we went a lot when Heath was in his meetings. I am a little sensitive (Heath says) about the way that people react to him. Most of the time, it's fine and people ask to pet him but there was this one lady had a 10 pounds dog on a very long leash and when she saw Bruce she freaked and picked up her dog and ran telling her daughter "oh, he could eat our dog." I didn't say anything, but followed her for a little while, so that she could see that Bruce knew how to heel and that he was not aggressive AT ALL.
We did this challenge where I hid behind a sheet and someone else brought Bruce in. I called him from the behind the sheet and he had to follow my voice. It was pretty funny!

Bruce graduated from puppy kindergarten on Monday night. He starts another class called household manners on August 6th. Here are a couple of pictures from the class.
He looks so tiny in this picture.

So sad about the TV

So Heath and I have been saving all of our money for a new TV. When we bought the house, we made a little deal that I would decorate, pick the paint, etc. for the kitchen and Heath was in charge of all of that for the living room. He totally sold me on putting the TV up above the fire place. We had a consultation with Vision Audio on Monday and they said they could not put it up there. We had heard that these guys could do anything. It's all because our house has a "real" brick fireplace. We are really sad to say the least. They mentioned many options including a faux wall, or a new mantle. We are determined to put it up there, we still just don't quite know how. Here is a rough draft of how it will look. If anyone has any ideas please comment...thanks!

Papa Morris
Please pray for my papa. He had 2 strokes in the last week and is on a ventilator. My dad is heading to Oklahoma City today to be with him. He is 93 and still plays tennis 3 times a week!

Also, my friend from teaching at Martin is battling cancer...you can check out her blog at
She needs lots of prayers!
Plano, Abilene, and Amarillo and Back!!
I went to Plano for a couple of days to visit the fam and Heath came on Sunday after he finished up his trainings in Wichita Falls. I laid out by the pool and relaxed with my mom. I also watched lots of Ranger games with my dad. I got to catch up with some friends from high school while I was in Plano. I got to see Jenny and this pic is of Kerri and her sweet baby Nathan. It was so nice to see them!!
The dogs went with me. I was quite proud of myself for getting that massive kennel into the car all by myself=). Here's a pic of Bruce in his favorite spot-the floor board. I guess it's cool down there. When we got back from Plano we headed to Abilene for the day and then Amarillo for the day.
Heath got a saw...so exciting! He fixed the gate. It was dragging and not latching. He is so handy.
I love this picture of Nicholas...my best friend Amy's son. He is such a good baby.
