Bruce pics

This pic was taken after out trip to the vet. At 4 months he weighs 39 pounds.
He lays like this a lot. He loves his crate but always pushes the blanket out of the way so he can lay on the cool plastic bottom. He's been doing fantasic at puppy kindergarten. He got to go through a tunnel 4 times at the last class. He was very confident. He will do basically anything for his food. On our walk tonight I put a cup of his food in my pocket and Bruce ate his dinner after he did a command. He is so much fun.
Bruce loves to stretch out.
You can tell it's summer and that Heath is out of town because I am blogging everyday. I've been busy painting. I put one coat of paint on in the hallway today. It's the same kacki color that we did the living room in. I'm going to work on the bathrooms again tomorrow.
I want to go to Plano to visit the fam but this is the week the couch is supposedly going to be delivered. We'll see. Maybe I'll go next week.

Bandito

I walked into the office and little Bandit is in Bruce's HUGE crate. He loves blankets, I mean loves blankets.
There was nothing on TV tonight, so I was watching a dog show (big nerd, I know) and Bandit really liked this dog=)

We originally started blogging because of the puppy, but sometimes I forget to put pics on here of our other sweet dog. I love these pictures. He has such an awesome personality. He is so tolerant of the puppy. If we bought 2 of every toy we had, they would still fight over just one. Usually Bandit wins because Bruce finds a rock to chew on=)
While we were in Amarillo we let the dogs off of their leashes and Bandit was doing this leaping thing trying to get a bunny. Heath mentioned that Bonny his old Blue Heeler used to do that too. Since we don't know what Bandit is, he now has one of those cool hybrid names: Jack Heeler.

Amarillo by morning

We just got back from Amarillo and we had a blast! We took the dogs with us and they did really well. It was apparent many times throughout the trip that they missed their backyard. However, we stayed in Canyon and there was a big field behind the hotel so they ran free often.
Bruce learned how to jump up on the bed while we were there...fun! We also learned that Bruce is pretty protective while we were gone. Heath worked really late the first night there. I fell asleep around midnight and didn't hear the door at 4am but Bruce did. He let out the loudest, meanest bark ever. We thought he was going to come out of his crate. Needless to say, Heath calmed him down and I went right back to sleep!

We had a great time catching up with old friends. It was so good to see everyone. We went to our favorite restaurants and ate lots of good food.

It's good to be home again, even if Heath was only home for one night. He's in Wichita Falls for 10 days! Have a great week, Hil

Random Pics

Heath had a great time in Atlanta. Here is a picture from his hotel of Centennial Park.

They visited the Atlanta Aquarium and the Zoo. Heath loved the wale shark (middle pic.)

Bruce at 15 weeks.

Bandit and Bruce (16 weeks)

We bought a lawn mower and string trimmer this weekend. I think our neighbors are happy, it was getting pretty tall.
The house is coming along really well. We put the hardware on the kitchen cabinets so it is looking more finished everyday. We also hung some shelves in the kitchen. Heath got to use his new drill...so exciting!
I primed and painted one coat in both of the bathrooms. They look so much better already.
I finished painting all of the doors and linen cabinets in the hallway.
Oh yeah, Bruce loved puppy kindergarten...there are 2 other rottweilers in his class so that was cool. He is beginning to look more like a dog and not so much like a puppy anymore. We forget he's a puppy on walks. He tires out very easily. Tonight we had to take him home and Bandit, Heath and I walked for another 30 minutes. Have a great week!

Water and Dog school

This morning I woke up and let the dogs out of their crates to find that Bruce had left paw prints in the carpet in the hallway. The carpet was sopping wet because their was lots of standing water in both bathrooms. I called our handy dandy home warranty place and someone was out right away. I know my dad would be thankful for Howard (Heath's dad) who came to the rescue and told me exactly what to do and say. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Heath is at a training seminar in Atlanta, GA this week. He was so pleased to talk to me this morning to find out all of the plumbing stuff going on 1,500 miles away. Everything is almost back to normal in the bathrooms. YEAH!

Please pray for my dad as he has back surgery tomorrow. He had this same surgery about 4 years ago because of a slipped disc. At least he knows what to expect. If you don't know my dad, he's like me and cannot sit still for any amount of time. Being in bed is hell for him.

Bruce starts obedience school tonight. I am pretty excited about it. I am mostly excited that he will get to meet other dogs. He is sitting before he can come in and sitting before he eats....I am looking forward to him learning to wait. He goes to the vet tomorrow. I have to hold him in the waiting room (so scared of parvo) so wish me luck holding a 35 puppy.

Heath took the camera to Atlanta so I'll put some pics on here when he gets home....love, Hil
