These descriptions came from the breeder in her email this week.
Enjoy!

Pink likes to keep active and on the go. She is always first to play, first to potty, first to run out the door. She was first to catch on how to potty off the cement and in the dirt. Pretty sharp. Today when the others were tiring and ready for a nap, Pink was not interested but wanted to play with a toy and then run outside to drink and do something else.

This girl is pretty docile and loves being held. She is sweet natured and doesn't stir trouble.

Blue has been similar to Red but not to the point of leaving the others and exploring. He likes to play and have a good time. He will growl if he doesn't want to be held. He can be an agitator and likes to control the others. He is very sweet when held.

Orange seems to be the quiet one. At the beginning, he would find a quiet spot on their blanket and be very content. I thought he needed to be held more and played with---which is what I've done and now he is socializing with the others and has a very nice attitude.

Purple is more laid back and seems to take everything in his stride. He doesn't sweat the small stuff. Has a very relaxed--contented look on his face. Was the most cooperative when taking pictures of these kids.

Green is active like Blue and Red and is always looking for a good time. Enjoys a good fight. Likes to be held. Has a humorous personality and during picture time became inpatient and started to howl.

He is a leader and doesn't like for me to tell him what to do. He will venture off by himself exploring and doesn't let the others influence him. If a certain puppy walks by, he would just as soon jump on him to let him know he is boss. He is sweet though and loves to be held but he will growl when he wants to do something else.

Bandit is an official registered Therapy Dog!

Bandit is our Jack russel terrier mix. Heath's brother Hunter found him under a school bus and took him back to their house and raised him until he was given to us as a wedding present. He is super sweet and lovable. Our church has a 6 week training program called Critters for Christ. He was trained to be a therapy dog. We will visit hospitals (he really liked the children's hospital most) and maybe some nursing homes. It's amazing how excited people get when a dog is in their hospital room. We know Bandit will brighten many people's day.

It's pretty funny that we thought this dog was dumb before we took him to the trainings. We found out quickly that we didn't know what we were doing. He loves to please us and knows many tricks. He's working hard to learn how to close the front door. Some tricks that he knows are wait, off, sit, roll over, spin, he rings a bell when he needs to go out, shake, kennel, down, and we are working on close. Here are some pics of Bandito. He is sporting his new therapy dog tag.

Bandit laying in the sun....his favorite thing to do.

I (Hil) did lots of Pilates during spring break. I went to get

some water and Bandit was on the Pilates mat. He's

getting into shape!

Bandit says "Yeah, 21 days til Bruce gets here!"

27 days and counting

We just received some new puppy pictures. I didn't think that I would be saying this (especially a week after the last set of pics), but these pics are better than the last. Gail also told us in the email that the puppies are starting to get more playful every day. They are developing just as quickly as they are supposed to. She said they have been barking and playing with each other and even said some of them had been growling at Amy(the mother), who was very quick to put them in their place. Gail also said that a few of the puppies are beginning to develop an attitude (not in a bad way, more like personality I guess). It is absolutely killing Hilary and I both not to know which one of them is ours. 27 days and counting until we'll know.

New Puppy Pics!!!

Well, it has been a while since we got our last puppy pics. THEY ARE FINALLY HERE!!! It has most definitely been worth the wait. Gail sent new puppy pictures early this morning.

Each of the puppies is given a sort-of temporary name based on the color of the collar they wear. The pic above is of "Coyote Blue Boy". The pic on the right looks like he is either starting a yawn or a howl. The hardest part of this whole process to explain to everyone is the fact that we don't know which puppy is ours. It was a little confusing to Hilary and I at first also, but it works something like this....Gail, the breeder, asks each person who puts a deposit down on a new puppy what it is they are looking for in their new dog. Some people are looking for a show dog, one with great breed conformation. Some people are very interested in the Schutzhund bloodlines that Gail has. Some simply want a good pet. We told Gail that we would like a dog that looks like a Rottweiler (good breed conformation), it was also important to me that the dog be protective of Hilary and I. Most of all we are very excited about having a puppy that has the great temperament that ALL of Gail's breeding stock seemed to have when we visited. Gail does her best to match up each puppy's personality and other traits with the things that are important to each customer. Hilary and I learned pretty quickly that not getting to "pick" your puppy is pretty commonplace among highly sought after breeders.

Here is "Ranger Green Boy". I guess that all of the puppies are about 3 weeks old in these pictures. I can't believe how much cuter the puppies are now. I can probably say just about anything I want to this far down in the post, but when we got the last pictures I didn't think the puppies looked very cute. But they have definitely gotten past that stage. The puppies are about 3.5 weeks old now. Hilary continues the daily countdown until our puppy comes home. Right now the official Hilary countdown clock says we have 31 days left until we bring the puppy home.

One last pair of puppy pics. "Ranger Black Boy" was one of Hilary's favorite of the puppy pics we just got. He is very cute and just as Hilary and I expected Gail does such a GREAT job of snapping the perfect pictures of each of the puppies. I have some more puppy pics and I will post them soon.
That's all for now - more later...Heath

The rest of this batch of puppy pics as promised:

"Ranger Orange Boy" was also one of Hilary's favorites.

Hilary and I may have become just a little biased, but we think they are ALL pretty cute.

Day 15

Gail (the breeder) is much better at keeping photos up to date than I am. The first picture is of the whole litter together at 15 days old. She sent these new pics late Monday night. The puppies turned 2 weeks old this past Sunday. 6 more weeks until we can bring ours home. Hilary gives me an updated countdown everyday, I think she is more excited than I am. Hilary and I have looked at so many pictures of puppies from Gail. If anyone would like to see a TON of pictures of Rottweiler puppies, HERE is a link to Baronhaus Rottweilers. She (Gail) has quite a talent for capturing all the best shots of her puppies. All of the puppies have their eyes open now. The last two pictures are of a male and a female puppy sporting their cowboy hats. More later, I hope everyone is having a good week.

Heath

One last thing, I think all of you already know that Hilary and I are getting a boy puppy.

The Dognapping Aftermath

This is Lily, a yellow lab that belongs to Max. (Some of you know Max, for anyone that doesn't we were fraternity brothers in college and he and his wife Lindi and their 2 little girls live in Lubbock now.) Lindi, Max's wife, is out of town and Max had to work some crazy hours and Hilary and I were supposed to go over and check on Lily. Hilary loves Lily and Lily is pretty fond of both Hilary and I so....she ended up getting dognapped. She came to stay with us for a little while. She's pretty sweet, I think she reminds Hilary of her old black lab, Raider. She is pretty "labish"...the whole follow you EVERYWHERE you go thing and also bringing back anything you throw pretty much makes her all lab in my book. She and Bandit usually play non-stop and full throttle from the first moment they see each other to the moment they are separated. They both did exactly that until what you see pictured here happened. Bandit and Lily ABSOLUTELY wore each other out. We separated them while we ate dinner. Hilary and I have already bought the new puppy's crate so Lily always has a place to call her own at our house. Lily was in the new puppy's crate and Bandit found himself a comfy blanket and they were both knocked out cold.

I also have one new puppy pic for everyone that needs their puppy fix for the day. This picture looks a lot like one Gail sent previously, but the puppies have grown quite a bit. They are 11 days old now. Gail said that their eyes are starting to open little by little. As soon as their eyes are open, they will be able to hear also. (I had no idea that they couldn't hear from the time they were born.) Anywho, there they all are doing what they do best, for now. Hilary and I kinda hope that our pup is one of the ones on the top or in the middle and not the one that looks like it might be lost, like the one down by Amy's tail =). More later....
